Curriculum statement
Outstanding and distinctive education through a digital and creative curriculum, delivered in partnership with industry professionals.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet the needs and aspirations of every student by blending traditional models of learning with a pioneering digital-led approach. We want to equip every learner with the skills and experience they need in a diverse range of digital genres. Our digital courses will require students to call upon their core academic subject knowledge whilst responding to innovative project-based learning opportunities.
BOA Digital aims to develop students academically, vocationally, socially and morally so they leave as independent, co-operative, responsible, creative young people who will be well rounded, resilient and ambitious to both learn and work in the related digital technologies.
BOA Digital’s curriculum offers its students the opportunity to specialise in digital technologies. However, the academy will not compromise academic rigour, so will combine the specialism alongside the core academic subjects. The academy will meet all legal requirements of the National Curriculum and strongly urge students to follow the English Baccalaureate when in KS4 after following broad programmes of study offered at KS3.
The knowledge and skills acquired at BOA Digital will be broad and generic. BOA Digital students will be highly IT literate and competent to support the rapidly growing digital economy. This transferable knowledge and skill set will support students moving into most areas of work or higher education.
