Creative Media
BTEC Tech Award in Creative Media
BOA Digital Technologies is excited to start teaching Creative Media. Students whilst studying will take part in three distinct areas for their qualification; exploring media products, developing digital media production skills and create a media product in response to a brief.
-
Component 1
- Exploring Media Products; there are 60 marks available and worth 30% of the qualification. There will be 10 hours of supervised sessions. The students will develop their skills and knowledge in the media by looking into techniques, examining existing products and their meaning for the audiences.

Component 2
-
Developing digital media production skills, there are 60 marks available and worth 30% of the qualification. There will be 10 hours of supervised sessions like component 1. Students will be getting involved with audio and moving image and print or interactive design. All students will develop and apply their skills in the creative media course throughout the two years

Component 3
-
Create a media product in response to a brief. This is a larger part of the students' qualification, worth 40% but still having 60 marks available. Again, like components 1 and 2, there will be 10 hours of supervised sessions. The students will have an opportunity to develop their skills even further and apply them to a piece of media product that will be in response to a brief that will be given.

By engaging in this course, the students gain transferable skills and confidence that will help in the world today, and have a taste of what the industry sector and what vocational study is like.
