Combined Science

GCSE Combined Science is a core subject and will contain elements of all sciences; such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics. There will 6 sat exams at the end of Year 11, two for each division of the sciences. During their time, students will conduct practical experiments and their understanding will be assessed in their final assessment.

  • The rate and extent of chemical change

  • Chemical analysis
  • Chemistry of the atmosphere
  • Using resources

For each of the sat exams, it will be worth 16.7% of the GCSE with 70 marks available and for each test you will have 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the paper. The style of questions will be either multiple choice, structured, closed short answers and open responses.
