Curriculum overview
Key stage 3 students will study Mathematics and Statistics, English, Science, Humanities, Computer Science and Coding, Art, Drama, Dance, Music, PE and Spanish. Alongside this, they will do a six-week technology project, covering digital skills and technology.
Outstanding and distinctive education through a digital and creative curriculum, delivered in partnership with industry professionals.
All staff will apply elements of creative thinking and arts-based competencies in their lesson planning and delivery. This, combined with the potential of digital technology, will promote a brand-new form of classroom learning which creates opportunities for open questioning, risk taking, problem-solving and critical thinking. Most importantly, all students will leave the academy with the skills and qualifications they need to progress to higher education, apprenticeships or the workplace.
To ensure all students are equipped with a broad practical, social and emotional education, the academy will have a comprehensive programme of PSHME and IAG during allotted Personal Development Time.
All learners will also undertake a Technology Project delivered via our industry partners. This learning will enable students to work in collaboration on real, relevant work-based projects and give them invaluable work experience with leading industry contacts.
