Year 8 Girls explore STEM at Mini MEGA Event

On Tuesday 26 November, a group of Year 8 Girls from BOA Digital Technologies Academy embarked on an inspiring trip to the Mini MEGA Event at The STEAMhouse, designed to encourage young women to explore the exciting world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

The day was filled with hands-on activities that sparked creativity and problem-solving skills. The girls had the chance to crack codes in the VR Cyber Escape, create stunning AI-generated art using Midjourney, and solve thrilling mysteries with the Cyber Women using coding and morse code techniques.

At the end of the day, each student was awarded a Cyber Champion certificate in recognition of their hard work and enthusiasm. Special congratulations to Charlotte Walker, who was awarded a £20 Amazon gift voucher for her outstanding teamwork and dedication throughout the event.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for the girls to engage with technology in a fun and inspiring way, further promoting the importance of girls in STEM fields.
